Details of the Workshop:

  • Preamble:

    Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) & Department of Mechanical Engineering, CPI has jointly organized one-day workshop on “Energy Conservation Awareness” sponsored by GEDA. Total 208 participants participated in this Workshop which includes faculties and diploma students.

    The inauguration ceremony of Workshop was started by Prayer dance to seek the blessings of almighty, welcome speech followed by lamp lighting . As per tradition of Christ Polytechnic Institute, all the dignitaries were given a warm welcome and were felicitated to express respect and gratitude towards them for devoting their valuable time and gracing the occasion. The dignitaries that graced the inauguration ceremony of workshop were Fr. Benny Joseph (Director, Christ Polytechnic Institute), Mrs Nymphea Gogia Principal Christ Polytechnic Institute Dr Yvonne Fernandis Principal Christ College Mr. Kamlesh Sanghani (Certified Energy Auditor & Manager), Mr. Rahul Acharya (Certified Energy Auditor), Mr. Gaurav Vaghela (Certified Energy Auditor) and head ofall the departments of Christ Polytechnic Institute. The dignitaries andexperts were felicitated by the coordinators of the workshop.

    Prof. Prarthana Buch gave a brief introduction about the workshop. She introduced the experts announced the schedule and expressed her views about the importance of workshop.

    The Principal of Christ Polytechnic Institute, Mrs. Nymphea Gogia gave the welcome speech. . She emphasized on increasing energy security and tackling climate change are two of the world’s major concerns and challenges.She also said Using energy efficiently is very necessary to save it for the future usage. Energy conservation should be rooted in the behavior of every human being to get more effect towards the plan of energy conservation.

    Prof. Nirav Chodvadia gave the vote of thanks.

    Need for Energy Conservation – Energy Scenario, Systems Approach & Energy Audit, EC Opportunities in Motors in this session he encouraged and made students to realize the important of energy sources as with time they are getting depleted. So awareness was created and was also told how they can be part to save energy resources by conserving it. They also emphasized to move for renewable sources. He has also explained about energy audit.Different slides were displayed and the explaination weas given through supporting videos and presentations


    Pumps, Fans & Variable Speed Drives, Energy Efficient Lighting - Techniques &Technologies, ECOpportunities in Refrigeration, Air-conditioning & Compressors, ECOpportunities in Boilers &Furnaces in this session he gave how in our daily life we can conserve energy. This can be done at agriculture, industrial, commercial and residential level. He gave example of variousequipment’s which can be made pumps, lighting system, cooling tower, variable frequency drives, boiler and different utilities in industrial and domestic level.Explaination was given through supporting videos and presentations.
